How we keep a school's money and records safe.

The money never sits with us

Fees that parents pay settle to the school's own bank or mobile money account. Manabi does not hold school fees on the way, and cannot move them.

What a school pays out comes from a balance the school itself puts in place for that purpose. Suppliers and payroll are paid from that balance and nothing else, so a school can never spend money it has not set aside.

Two people on every payout

Whoever prepares a payment cannot be the one who releases it. Every payout carries the name of the person who prepared it and the person who released it, and stays on the ledger with both.

Who can see what

Each person at the school signs in with their own account and sees only what their role allows. A class teacher does not see payroll. A bursar cannot release a payment alone. Parents see their own children's fee notes and receipts and nothing else.

Your data

• Data travels between your browser and Manabi over an encrypted connection. [Confirm TLS is enforced on every host]
• The school's records are backed up [how often] and kept in [hosting region].
• Access to production systems by Manabi staff is limited to [who] and is logged.
• Payments are processed by [licensed payment providers, by name]. Manabi never sees a parent's card number or mobile money PIN.
